David is a Managing Director in Accordion’s Transaction Execution practice with over 25 years providing C-level support for buy-side and sell-side M&A transactions, performance improvements, and complex transformation programs for financial sponsors and corporate clients. He specializes in M&A strategy, operations due diligence, standalone costs, synergy delivery, integrations, divestitures, carve-outs, and joint ventures, and has a track record of maximizing synergy value delivery, improving cash-flows, and optimizing business performance.
Prior to joining Accordion, David was a Managing Director in KPMG’s Deal Advisory & Strategy practice where he held multiple M&A Services leadership roles as Insurance sector lead, Consumer Markets sector & Southeast region lead primarily serving Fortune 500 companies, large-cap private equity clients, and mid-size and small businesses in the U.S. He was responsible for leading large, complex, cross-border transactions and supported multiple instances of every deal type from pure mergers, carve-out integrations, divestitures supporting seller, spins, splits and joint ventures.
Before KPMG, David was a Senior Manager in Deloitte’s M&A and Restructuring practice leading consumer and industrial markets integrations and separations, a Principal with Gemini Consulting supporting procurement, supply chain, shared services optimization, performance improvement, and transformation programs. He also served as an officer in the U.S. Army, specializing in supply chain & logistics and personnel & administration.
David has advised clients in the tech, payments, banking, insurance, food & beverage, restaurants, automotive, and industrial markets sectors, supporting over 200 transaction ranging from $50 million carve-outs to $10 billion cross-border mergers, in the Americas, Europe, and Asia-Pacific. His vast transaction experience includes serial divestitures for a global beverage manufacturer of their NA distribution operations, a global mining equipment manufacturer’s sale of its distribution operations to their global dealer network, global carve-out and stand-up of an iconic automotive brand, $10B regional bank merger, multiple carve-outs for a software and payments processing company, $10B merger and synergy delivery of two multi-billion-dollar pet food companies.
David holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Birmingham Southern College and is a frequent speaker at M&A conferences.
