Matthew Heard is a Vice President with experience dealing with carve-outs, as well as designing and implementing improved accounting processes. He is a certified Chartered Accountant and has diverse international experience across a number of industries in the United States, Europe, and Australia.
Representative Accordion engagements include working side-by-side the Finance & Accounting function to create and implement robust policies and procedures around core accounting cycles, perform month-end close accelerations, oversee ERP system selections and implementations, as well as provide merger integration support.
Prior to joining Accordion, Matthew spent two years with PKF Germany where he worked on a range of carve-out engagements including the preparation of the group cash flow statement incorporating the accounting disclosures for discontinued operations. His other engagements included the audit of financial statements under US GAAP, IFRS & German GAAP, and internal audits on behalf of commercial clients where he assisted in the redesign and implementation of accounting processes.
Most recently, he spent three months working for PKF New York’s External Audit division in early 2017 as part of a short-term assignment from Germany. His clients included those within the Biotechnology and Real Estate sectors.
Matthew began his career in Australia, working for PKF in the Tax and Business Services division where he assisted in the preparation of statutory financial statements and tax reporting obligations. Prior to moving to Germany, he worked for BDO in their External Audit division where his portfolio contained Retail, Real Estate, and Mining clients.
Matthew received his Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Queensland with degrees in Accounting and Finance. Matthew is currently a candidate in the CFA Program.
