Howie Goldstein is a Vice President with twenty-five years of accounting and finance expertise in the financial services industry. As an innovative leader, Howie promotes team synergy and has developed the vision and operating model for new control departments. His focus is on process and system efficiency, cost and risk reduction, business growth, and financial close acceleration.
Prior to joining Accordion, Howie spent 14 years as a Senior Vice President with HSBC Global Banking & Markets. As a Controller, his responsibilities spanned the Americas Region with a focus on profit & loss reporting, maintaining books and records, project management, and policies and procedures development. During his time with HSBC, he launched several new control departments and developed reporting processes for the Board of Directors and Regulators. Additionally, Howie was on steering committees developing new hire and staff mentorship programs.
Prior to HSBC, Howie worked as a Senior Vice President at Citigroup in Capital Markets and as a Director at UBS. There he acquired expertise in accounting for asset-backed and mortgage-backed securitizations. He specialized in creating financial accounting processes and leading strategic initiatives, and later leveraged these skills during the launch of the same business lines at HSBC.
Howie started his career in public accounting, working with a variety of clients in diverse industries. As an employee at Ernst & Young and Berdon LLP, he gained Audit & Tax experience.
Howie graduated from Binghamton University with a B.S. in Accounting and obtained his Certified Public Accountant status shortly thereafter.
