Chris Stipe

Chris is a Managing Director with more than 15 years of experience transforming Finance organizations to create clear visibility and accountability for financial performance across the business. He specializes in planning, budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, product costing and finance process automation.

Prior to joining Accordion, Chris was a leader in Ernst & Young’s Cost Management, Planning, and Control (CMPC) Advisory practice. He served as a thought leader, practice leader, and client advisor to bring to market innovative points of view related to financial planning & analysis. There, he led clients through strategic visioning and value creation planning, organizational restructuring, process improvement, master data management, and technology implementations.

Chris’ approach is grounded in defining business success drivers, ensuring accountability for success metrics, and automating finance processes. He has applied this approach to provide clients outcomes such as 80% time efficiency, 70% headcount reduction, 5x more time dedicated to insight and analytics, and 25% increased forecast accuracy.

His experience spans global and domestic companies across a variety of industries, including automotive, consumer packaged goods, heavy equipment manufacturing, wine and spirits, and industrial products. He has primarily worked across the United States, but lived and worked in South Korea for 6 months to create a formal finance function with an acquired manufacturing facility.

Chris graduated from Northwestern University with an M.B.A. focused on Management & Strategy, Managerial Analytics, Managerial Economics and Decision Sciences. He also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and International Business from the University of Cincinnati.

Something You Should Know

  • Inspired by his daughter’s need for a toybox, he got into woodworking during COVID. His portfolio now includes a few toyboxes, a cutting board, photo frames, and a bench for the entry of his home
  • His grandpa owned a bakery for 47 years and he is an avid bread baker, trying to carry on the tradition. Bagels, sesame bread & pizza dough are some of his specialties
  • Traveled with a local through the jungles of Vietnam for 10 days by motorcycle, staying with locals along the way
