As a Managing Director and Head of Accordion’s Northeast Region, Gary’s role includes recruiting top notch professionals, career development, client relations and satisfaction, new business development, thought leadership, and oversight of certain projects. Prior to this role, Gary served as Head of Accordion’s Financial Accounting Advisory Services Practice and his client work included finance function performance improvement, merger integration, and carve-out planning and execution.
Prior to joining Accordion, Gary founded and led a firm focused on providing finance function consulting, interim leadership, merger integration, and carve-out execution services to private equity firms and corporations. His experience includes leading large cap private equity portfolio companies through the execution of strategic finance & accounting related projects in connection with major acquisitions. On behalf of marquee private equity funds, he has led complex carve-out transactions from public companies, and served as the interim CFO for a global products business with revenues of approximately $250 million.
Gary’s professional background includes Andersen and Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) for most of his career where he held various leadership positions and served over 100 clients. While at Andersen, he was the Partner in Charge of the North American Finance and Operations consulting practice. During his tenure at A&M, he led the Northeast Performance Improvement Practice, serving private equity firm clients, Fortune 500 companies, mid-size and small businesses across industry sectors.
Gary received a BS in Business Economics from Oneonta College and an MS in Accounting from Binghamton University. Notably, he is a CPA in the state of New York, has led numerous speaking engagements on merger integration and carve-out best practices and is a Governing Board Member of Make-A-Wish of New Jersey. He is the father of three, and resides with his wife Pat in Upper Saddle River, New Jersey.
