Marcos Muiña is an Associate with 3 years of assurance experience with clients ranging from large multinational to local South Florida companies with operations around the United States. Marcos specializes in consumer products, media, and technology companies within the public and private sector.
Before joining Accordion, Marcos spent 3 years with RSM US LLP working in their assurance practice. Marcos has worked on a variety of audit roles such as auditing revenue, inventory, and consolidations related to business combinations. He has also worked on performing quarterly reviews and testing internal controls. While auditing publicly traded companies, Marcos was responsible for testing and gaining an understanding of his client’s internal controls over financial reporting to ensure they were in compliance with Sarbanes Oxley Act (SOX). As a result, Marcos gained an understanding of his client’s business, processes, and operations, allowing him to interpret financial statement transactions with a different lens.
Marcos started his financial accounting career as an intern at Ocean Bank in Miami, Florida where he was responsible for reviewing client financial information related to business loan applications. He prepared various financial ratios that were presented at board meetings for the approval of the loans.
Marcos graduated from Florida State University where he earned a B.S in Accounting and shortly after earned his CPA license in the state of Florida.
