Kara is a Director with over a decade of experience in public accounting, general ledger accounting, and assurance services. After over seven years in public accounting, she was looking for a change of pace and found her previous role at American Cancer Society as the Director of General Ledger Accounting, where she managed the general ledger team, probate and trust team and restricted funds team.
Kara has a track record of identifying unique ways to increase efficiencies as well as finding risks associated with current procedures. She works well with established teams but is proficient in creating new teams and creating a healthy work environment. Kara has experience with improving month end closing processes and system implementation with NetSuite, Salesforce, FloQast and Concur.
During her time in public accounting and at American Cancer Society, she gained experience in the following industries: manufacturing, not for profit, probate and trust, governmental and benefit plans.
Kara graduated from Oklahoma State University with a B.S. in Accounting and continued to get her Masters in Accounting at the same institution. She quickly became a Certified Public Accountant and continues to build on her education every year with new work challenges.
