Alexander Friend

Alexander Friend

Alexander is a Senior Director with over a decade of experience in assurance and accounting advisory services. He is a CPA who has led both audit and accounting advisory projects for companies spanning a wide variety of industries, including healthcare, construction & engineering, retail, oil & gas, and media & entertainment.

Alexander’s experience includes leading private equity portfolio companies through a variety of accounting and reporting challenges across multiple industries. His recent engagements consist of public listing readiness, acceleration of the financial statement closing processes and procedures (including implementation of data automation tools), preparation of acquisition and consolidation related accounting entries and related disclosures, development of financial statements (under both public and private requirements), audit assistance, new guidance implementation (ASC 606 and ASC 842), as well as resolution of various technical accounting and reporting issues. In addition to leading targeted engagements, Alex has also played interim leadership roles overseeing day-to-day operations of the accounting function.

Before joining Accordion, Alexander provided accounting advisory services at Ernst & Young, focusing primarily on developing solutions for the implementation of new accounting standards for a variety of clients. During his time at EY, Alexander also provided clients with insights into various accounting and reporting issues, such as financial statement design, journal entry process design, and guidance interpretation.

Alexander started his career with PricewaterhouseCoopers, leading audits for both domestic and global Fortune 500 SEC registrants, private companies, and non-profit organizations. There, he gained exposure to a wide variety of processes and transactions unique to each industry.

Alexander graduated from the University of Oregon with a B.S. in Accounting with an emphasis in Finance, and a Minor in Economics.
