Toma is a Vice President within Accordion’s Strategic Finance Practice, with ten years of experience in a variety of areas within Financial Services including Investment Banking and Corporate Finance. Throughout his career, Toma has built his expertise across a number of industries such as Technology, Business Services, Industrials, Consumers, and FIG and has worked alongside some of the most preeminent North American sponsors.
Since joining Accordion in 2024, he has worked closely with the CFO of a public company with $1.4B sales and spearheaded the creation of detailed, driver-based LRP and a comprehensive management reporting package with extensive variance analyses and bridges to actuals. In addition, he has developed a largely automated Billings to Collections model with 95%+ accuracy covering 150K invoices. Some of his other notable projects included performing an in-depth income statement drivers analysis for 26 acquisitions and recommended $2M in savings.
Prior to Accordion, Toma was an Investment Banking Associate at Evercore in Menlo Park focusing on the Technology space where he advised corporations and sponsors on acquisitions, divestitures, refinancings, and IPOs. Two of his notable transactions included the most successful recapitalization of 2022 for Diebold Nixdorf worth $2.2B and the sale of Lightspin Technologies to Cisco.
Prior to Evercore, he was a Leveraged Finance Investment Banking Associate at BNP Paribas in New York and RBC in Toronto where he originated, structured, and syndicated senior and subordinated debt for US and European corporates and sponsors. Some of his notable debt origination transactions included the largest BNPP led financing of $2.9B to support Sitel’s acquisition of Sykes Enterprises, as well as the issuance of senior notes for COTY and ABC Supply.
Toma started his career as part of the RBC CPA training program where he earned two performance awards for leading high-profile financial and credit analytics projects that provided critical insights to senior leaders at the organization.
Toma earned an M.B.A. and a B.Comm. from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto, and holds the CFA, CPA, and FRM designations.
