Todd is a Managing Director with nearly 30 years of experience assisting healthcare providers with identifying and implementing operational and revenue cycle improvements that have contributed to millions of dollars in value creation as well as improved quality and customer service. Over the past 2+ decades as a consultant, Todd has led numerous revenue cycle transformation engagements in a variety of provider settings across the country.
Todd has deep technical expertise in all areas of the revenue cycle, and he also has experience implementing workforce, supply chain, clinical utilization, and patient throughput improvements. Prior to Accordion, Todd cofounded Pinnacle Healthcare Advisors, Inc., a consulting firm focused exclusively on providing revenue cycle transformation solutions to healthcare providers. Before that, he was a project leader at Novia Strategies and Huron Consulting Group, and he also served in finance and operations roles for several healthcare providers.
Serving as both a consultant and revenue cycle leader, Todd’s primary focus is on assessing revenue cycle performance and developing strategies and tactical plans to drive measurable, sustained financial improvements. His solutions focus on people development, workflow improvements, and technology optimization. Key benefit drivers on his engagements typically include accounts receivable (AR) backlog reduction / future state coverage strategies along with denial prevention, charge capture, and vendor management initiatives. Outcomes have varied by client size and project scope and range from $5M to $20M+ of annualized net revenue improvement and up to 50%+ reductions in AR days and avoidable write-offs.
Todd holds a Master of Healthcare Administration from the University of Minnesota and a B.A. in Health Information Management from the College of St. Scholastica.
