Sumner is a Vice President in Accordion’s Financial Accounting Advisory practice with more than a decade of experience in audit, accounting, and project management for public and private companies in hospitality, real estate, renewable energy, and technology. She focuses on controllership support, audit readiness, financial reporting, and close process improvement under U.S. GAAP.
At Accordion, Sumner leads operational and technical accounting engagements, including standing up month‑end close calendars and account ownership, designing reconciliation and control frameworks, and preparing documentation and reporting packages to support audits, transactions, and financing processes. She serves as a lead coordinating across finance, operations, and external auditors to resolve complex issues and establish sustainable reporting routines.
Sumner started her career in the assurance practice of the Atlanta office of PwC, with a focus on the technology sector. While there, she was responsible assessing client risks, performing and reviewing audit procedures, and evaluating appropriate treatment of technical accounting areas in compliance with US GAAP.
A CPA, Sumner graduated with honors from The University of Alabama with both a Masters and B.S. in Accounting.
