Paul is an Executive Director with over 20 years of experience as a global business leader and operating executive with P&L management experience and excellent finance skills. He has M&A proficiency across negotiation, valuation, and due diligence, and an extensive background in sales, marketing, operations, business development, and finance across Fortune 500 and middle market companies. Paul is a strong team leader with exemplary project management and communication skills.
Prior to joining Accordion, Paul was a Managing Principal at Firefly Consulting, where he consulted with senior leadership on mergers and acquisitions, corporate strategy, process improvement, and operations for Fortune 500 and smaller entrepreneurial companies. There, he supported a capital raise for a $100M-plus equity fund for a roll up of 5-6 acquisitions in the travel and hospitality industry with total acquisition value of $500M. Among other engagements, he also directed the successful acquisition of a $20M bolt-on acquisition of a hospitality company – leading valuation, collaborating with sponsors on negotiation, managing due diligence, and supporting capital partners.
Before Firefly Consulting, Paul was the Vice President of Finance at Bluegreen Vacations, Inc. There, he led corporate projects aligned with the company’s highest strategic priorities and supported the budget process – working with senior executives (CEO+).
As a Senior Director at Starwood Hotels (now Marriott International Inc.), Paul led the company’s mixed-use residential development business for Westin, Sheraton, and Le Meridien brands. He managed a portfolio of 25 projects (with projected gross sales proceeds of $1.7B and $30M in annual fees) and led strategic planning process and growth plans that focused resources on fewer and larger resorts and sales centers – resulting in a ~15% improvement in corporate cash flow.
During his time at L.E.K. Consulting, Paul directed the planning and execution of strategic projects which encompassed leading project teams of up to 15 associates, developing client relationships, driving project analytics, directing client presentations, and supporting implementation.
Paul graduated from the University of Cambridge, with an M.Phil in Finance and from the University of Stirling, with a B.S. in Management Science.
