Michelle is a Director with over a decade of finance, banking, principal investing, and portfolio management experience at J.P. Morgan.
At Accordion, Michelle Baio leads complex finance team transformations and performance improvement engagements across healthcare, education, financial, manufacturing, and industrial clients. She partners directly with CFOs, CEOs, sponsors, and executive leadership teams, serving as both a strategic advisor and hands-on operator. She is recognized for translating complex data into clear, decision-ready insights for executives, lenders, and investors and has spearheaded a wide range of client initiatives supporting value creation, including:
- Interim Head of FP&A during critical transitions
- Forecasting & budgeting model design, build, and process improvement
- KPI development and performance tracking frameworks
- Reporting dashboard design and implementation
- Debt covenant compliance tracking and reporting
- FP&A team diagnostics and organizational effectiveness assessments
- Sell-side readiness diagnostics to prepare companies for exit
Prior to joining Accordion, she worked on structuring tax-optimized equity transactions for large diversified global energy companies to secure principal capital from JPM Capital Corporation and other major investment banks to acquire early-stage renewable energy projects. Michelle initially started her finance career in accounting and portfolio management roles at J.P. Morgan, covering renewable energy projects, transportation assets and LIHTC multi-family real estate.
Michelle graduated magna cum laude from DePaul University with a B.S. in Finance and Economics and from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business with a M.B.A. in Finance, Accounting, Entrepreneurship, and Management. She has passed CFA Level I and II.
