Marie Marx is a Director in Accordion’s Transactions practice with a decade of advisory and accounting experience serving privately held businesses, private equity-backed portfolio companies, and large multinational corporations and their U.S. subsidiaries. She brings a combined background in financial due diligence, transaction advisory, and audit, with experience across equipment rental and leasing, retail and restaurant, manufacturing, distribution, consumer goods, and industrial products. This mix enables her to connect detailed financial analysis and working capital insights with sponsor and management priorities around performance, capital structure, and value creation.
At Accordion, Marie leads and supports transaction-focused workstreams for sponsor-backed companies, including buy-side and sell-side financial due diligence, working capital analysis, and transaction-related forecasting and reporting. She develops and refines models and reporting packs that clarify revenue, margin, and cash conversion dynamics, and partners with finance and operations leaders to translate findings into practical, deal-relevant actions.
In these roles, she serves as a primary contact for management teams, coordinating analyses, sensitivities, and materials for boards, lenders, and investment committees.
Before joining Accordion, Marie was a Vice President at Catalyst Strategic Advisors, a sell-side transaction advisory firm specializing in the equipment rental industry, where she led financial analysis, process management, and market research to support deal execution. Previously, she was a Manager in the transaction services group at Riveron, completing more than 50 buy-side and sell-side financial due diligence, working capital, and purchase agreement advisory engagements for private equity firms and corporate clients.
She began her career in the Private Company Services assurance group at PwC, performing financial statement audits for private equity-owned portfolio companies and completing a rotation in the Consumer Industrial Products and Services practice, where she worked on the merger and subsequent carve-outs of two of the world’s largest chemical companies.
Marie holds an M.S. in Accounting from the University of Texas at Dallas and a B.A. in Business Administration from Austin College, and she is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the state of Texas.
