Jon Drew is a Vice President with nearly three decades of experience in software engineering leadership, Agile and XP delivery, and modernizing legacy systems to make teams faster and more reliable.
Before Accordion, Jon was a Senior Consultant and then Lead Consultant at Stride, where he built custom software for client teams. Earlier, he spent more than six years leading engineering at Ramp, moving up from Director to Vice President of Engineering. At Ramp he modernized the company’s enterprise video delivery (eCDN) platform while keeping it backward compatible, added analytics so customers could see their ROI, and built and managed engineering teams in Boston, Russia, and India. After that he was Director of Engineering at Vbrick.
Jon has also been Technical Lead at Cazena, a multi-cloud big data platform, and CTO of Fanatic Sports, a mobile startup. At Cazena he raised test coverage from almost nothing to 95% and replaced a manual QA process that shipped every two months with a fully automated pipeline. At Nokia he led R&D teams from Berlin to San Francisco and built backend services that handled millions of requests a day. He also coached teams on Agile practices across the company.
Jon has worked in enterprise SaaS, media and video, big data, mobile and consumer apps, e-commerce, and cultural institutions, including Harvard University Art Museums. His roles have ranged from hands-on developer and architect to Agile coach and executive. He specializes in bringing test-driven development, continuous integration, and pair programming to teams, and in turning complex technical requirements into work teams can deliver.
Jon holds a Bachelor’s degree in Geography from Dartmouth College.
