Joe Mernaugh

Joe is a Director with nearly 8 years of transaction, operations, and accounting experience with companies ranging from growing startups to large, established multinational firms. Joe specializes in transaction execution and operational process improvement.

Before joining Accordion, Joe worked in buy-side acquisitions and corporate finance at Unybrands, an e-commerce aggregator. As a member of the investment team, Joe evaluated potential e-commerce brands for purchase, wrote investment memoranda, performed due diligence, and completed the purchase of multi-million dollar companies. As part of his corporate finance duties, Joe established new accounting protocols, revamped the budget process, and created monthly reporting tools for internal and external parties.

Prior to Unybrands, Joe worked in the controllership group at KKR & Co, Inc., where he oversaw the operations of several funds within the special situations credit strategy. In addition to quarterly financial reporting, Joe managed liquidity needs, capital activity, valuations, and prepared investor reports and marketing materials for several funds within the strategy.

Joe began his career at EY, where he focused on financial statement audits for private equity, venture capital, and hedge funds across various strategies and geographic locations.

Joe graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in Business Administration and from INSEAD with a M.B.A. Joe is also a licensed CPA and a CFA charterholder.
