Joe is a Director with over 10 years of experience in financial modeling and reporting, restructuring, transactions, operations, and accounting with companies ranging from growing startups to large, established multinational firms.
Joe specializes in liquidity management, budgeting and forecasting, bankruptcy advisory, financial process improvement, and comprehensive financial reporting, with a focus on building practical tools that enhance decision‑making for management teams.
His recent experience includes:
- Serving as a financial advisor to a large HVAC roll-up as it navigated bankruptcy and completed the sale of its business units across six separate transactions, resulting in saving 600 jobs and minimizing operational disruptions for the business. He led financial reporting for the bankruptcy case, managed cash flows and vendors during multiple sale processes, and supported six separate asset sales.
- Developing a three‑statement, multi‑year restructuring model for a multinational telecommunications company preparing for a bankruptcy filing, coordinating assumptions across global management, building scenario analyses, and aligning cash flow and business plan forecasts to support the filing and stakeholder communications.
- Advising a large third‑party logistics provider, where he redesigned and automated the reporting process (including the use of tools such as Power BI), reducing reporting timelines by more than a week, eliminating hundreds of errors, and delivering faster, more reliable data to management.
Before joining Accordion, Joe worked in buy-side M&A and corporate finance at Unybrands, evaluating e‑commerce brands, building detailed cash flow models and investment memoranda, performing due diligence, closing multi‑platform acquisitions, and then integrating newly acquired brands, enhancing cash flow forecasting, budgeting, reporting, and accounting processes.
Earlier in his career, Joe worked in controllership and operations at KKR & Co. Inc. supporting special situations credit funds—overseeing fund operations, quarterly financial reporting, liquidity management, capital activity, valuations, and investor reporting—and at EY, where he focused on financial statement audits for private equity, venture capital, and hedge funds, including review of valuation models and financial forecasts across multiple strategies and geographies.
Joe holds a B.A. in Business Administration from the University of Washington and an M.B.A. from INSEAD and is both a licensed CPA and a CFA charterholder.
