James Jasper is a Senior Director with 15 years of experience in leveraging analytics, data science, and enterprise data to drive meaningful margin expansion and revenue growth. He specializes in early-stage data enablement and transformation with an emphasis on accelerating the adoption and utilization of insights in day-to-day decision making.
Before joining Accordion, James has led analytics, business intelligence, and data science teams in multiple Fortune 500 companies and consulting firms, focusing on development of AI/ML solutions and insights capabilities at scale as well as the structuring of successful data teams. He maintains a keen eye on value delivery and time to impact when working with clients.
Some highlights of his career include development of enterprise workforce planning and operations capabilities for a national coffee chain, creation of enhanced due diligence approaches from public data, strategic insights support and impact assessment of strategy development and execution, product development for an enterprise cloud provider, and creation of a targeted marketing and pricing engine. He has experience across all enterprise sizes, with a focus on North American and European businesses. His industry experience includes technology, software, retail, CPG, telecom, and professional services.
James started his career as a Business Insights Analyst at The Walt Disney Company, where he supported analytics across Disney’s digital properties. He transitioned to consulting joining BCG as a Data Scientist, specializing in Tech/Media/Telco and the Marketing, Sales, and Pricing practices. He has also spent time at Microsoft as a Principal Data Scientist Lead, where he was responsible for management of a petabyte scale data lake, data product development, and operations support for Azure. Most recently he ran people analytics for Starbucks, a role which included both strategy development and development of workforce deployment and development solutions.
James graduated with his M.B.A. from UCLA Anderson and received his Master of Information and Data Science from UC Berkeley. He holds two undergraduate degrees: a B.S. in Mathematics from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a B.A. in History and Economics from Franklin University Switzerland.
