Angelo Perez is a Managing Director within Accordion’s Strategic Finance Practice. He brings nearly 20 years of experience as a PE operating partner, CFO, and advisory partner for privately held and PE backed portfolio companies.
Prior to joining Accordion, Angelo spent significant time as an operating partner. Most recently he was a Managing Director of Portfolio Operations at Pacific Avenue Capital Partners, Vice President of Portfolio Operations at KPS Capital Partners, and Vice President of Portfolio Operations at Platinum Equity. Throughout his operating partner career, he executed transformational value creation initiatives across North American and European portfolio companies, led complex carveouts, built fit for purpose leadership organizations. Additionally, he implemented operational and finance excellence frameworks, remediated finance processes, and drove initiatives spanning the full ownership lifecycle—from pre-deal diligence through post-acquisition integration, turnaround execution, and exit preparation.
Angelo has extensive CFO experience, having served as Chief Financial Officer at Dynamic Machine and CFO at Compass Health Brands and Royal Oak Industries, where he navigated severe liquidity crises, led financial restructurings, drove working capital initiatives, and professionalized finance organizations. His Office of the CFO transformation expertise included recruiting and developing finance talent, professionalizing FP&A capabilities, driving digital transformation, implementing actionable KPI dashboards and reporting frameworks, strengthening internal controls, and aligning strategy with hands on execution.
Prior to his operating roles, Angelo spent nearly five years at Alvarez & Marsal in the Turnaround & Restructuring group, advising debtors and creditors through Chapter 11 bankruptcies and out-of-court restructurings, including high-profile engagements such as Lehman Brothers, Cooper Standard Automotive, and Lear Corporation. He spent time in Grant Thornton’s Corporate Advisory & Restructuring Services group advising distressed automotive suppliers. He began his career in investment banking at Stout, executing M&A transactions and financing mandates.
Angelo graduated from the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor with a B.S. in Mathematics with concentrations in Finance/Risk Management and a minor in Applied Statistics. Additionally, he is a Certified Turnaround Professional (CTP), Certified Insolvency & Restructuring Advisor (CIRA) and holds a Certification in Distressed Business Valuation (CDBV).
