Stuart Thompson

Stuart is Accordion’s Chief People Officer. He brings nearly two decades of experience leading People/Human Resources teams at companies ranging from high-growth start-ups to multinational industry leaders. Stuart joined the Accordion team in 2020 and is passionate about to continuing to build a “better way to work in finance” – by recruiting incredible talent and advancing the skills and capabilities of our people.

Prior to Accordion, Stuart was the Chief People Officer at Trilogy Education, where he helped the company grow from 250 to over 2,500 employees – becoming the fastest growing EdTech company ever. While at Trilogy, he led all People functions and, after being acquired by 2U Inc. in 2019, guided the integration work to merge the two companies. Prior to Trilogy, he built transformational HR teams for industry leaders in the technology and media space, including Cox Automotive, Dealertrack Technologies, Scripps Networks, McGraw-Hill, and Take-Two Interactive. Stuart started his career in executive search with a focus on software, professional services, and video games industries.

Stuart frequently speaks at HR conferences on the future of People/HR practices and is focused on continuing to raise the bar on the function across all industries.

Stuart graduated Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Baylor University with a B.A. in History and Communications. He also returned to Baylor to complete his graduate work in social science research with an M.A. in Organizational Communications. Stuart lives in New York with his wife and loves experiencing live music any chance he gets.
