Matthew Pauley

Matthew Pauley

Matthew is a Managing Director with over two decades of experience in the financial services industry primarily focused on covering the Financial Sponsor sector. He specializes in business development having sourced, financed, or advised on over 50 capital market or M&A transactions in his career.

With Accordion, Matthew works with the Business Development team, helping Accordion build out and strengthen their Private Equity sponsor relationships and ensuring that all aspects of Accordion’s services are delivered seamlessly to their portfolio companies.

Prior to joining Accordion, Matthew spent more than two decades in Financial Services and investment banking. He was previously a Managing Director with WhiteHawk Capital Partners a direct lending fund. There, he was responsible for business development – sourcing and structuring new lending transactions to deploy assets.

Prior to WhiteHawk, Matthew worked with the Sponsor Coverage teams at Capital One and GE Antares. He was responsible for relationship coverage for West Coast based Private Equity Sponsor coverage including Ares Management, Oaktree Capital, and Aurora Capital among others.

Matthew began his career in investment banking at Bank of America Securities and then at Bear Stearns, & Co. covering the consumer, restaurant, retail, and casino gaming industries where he gained extensive analytical and transaction experience in M&A, capital markets and leveraged finance.

Matthew graduated from The Anderson School at UCLA with an M.B.A. and from Middlebury College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics.
