Francesco Meloni is a Director with a strong background in M&A transaction origination and execution, capital-raising, and financial planning & analysis.
Representative Accordion engagements include M&A support for a public pharmaceuticals manufacturer, a visibility/KPI reporting project for a fintech company, and a revenue analysis project for a telecoms management company.
Prior to joining Accordion, Francesco was a Director in HSBC’s Financial Institutions Advisory team driving origination and execution of financing and M&A transactions for banks, insurance, and asset management companies across the US, Canada, and Latin America. Representative deals include a domestic U.S. bank merger, a PE-backed bid for a Mexican wealth manager, and the cross-border acquisition of a UK asset manager.
Francesco held similar roles at Barclays and Lehman Brothers where he executed M&A and financing transactions for US and Canadian banks and specialty finance companies including BNY Mellon, Scotiabank, Doral, Flagstar, Bank of Butterfield, and Santander.
He has also held leadership positions in corporate development at Dun & Bradstreet and TravelClick, two technology companies providing software, data, and analytics to their respective industries. In those roles, he successfully closed 18 different buy-side and sell-side M&A transactions in both Europe and the US.
Francesco started his career in the Financial Planning & Analysis department at Compagnie Bancaire (now BNP Paribas).
Francesco holds a Bachelor of Arts with Honors in Economics and French from the University of Sussex in the UK and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business with concentrations in Analytic Finance and International Business.
