Francesco is a Director in Accordion’s Strategic Finance practice with more than 25 years of experience in strategic financial planning & analysis, M&A, and capital-raising for companies ranging from large public corporates to sponsor-backed growth firms. He has significant operational experience as a senior finance leader including monthly reporting, developing annual budgets, forecasting, finance business partnerships, and reporting on product-level profitability.
At Accordion, Francesco has led a wide variety of engagements in all aspects of Strategic FP&A – helping companies to visualize and gain insights from their data in order to improve and automate KPI reporting and to carry out a forensic, root-cause analysis of their performance. He has also developed expertise in transaction execution support, project-managing M&A, carve-outs, and corporate transformations for large public corporates as well as private companies.
Francesco’s representative Accordion engagements include: acting as Interim Head of FP&A for a developer of cybersecurity and IT infrastructure tools, Finance Business Partner to the R&D department for an enterprise software firm, visibility/KPI reporting for a fintech company using Power Query/Power Pivot, and revenue analysis for a tech-enabled telecoms expense manager. His project management engagements have included a corporate transformation for a public veterinary care software company, a carve-out for a website security firm, M&A support for a public pharmaceutical manufacturer, and sell-side readiness for an insurance broker.
Prior to joining Accordion, Francesco was an investment banker focusing on the financial services sector at Lehman Brothers, Barclays, and HSBC. He drove the origination and execution of financing and M&A transactions for banks, insurance, and asset management companies across the U.S., Canada and Latin America. He has also held leadership positions in corporate development at Dun & Bradstreet and TravelClick, two technology companies providing SaaS, data, and analytics to their respective industries. In addition, Francesco volunteers as Treasurer of a NY real estate co-operative.
Francesco holds a B.A. with Honors in Economics and French from the University of Sussex in the UK and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business with concentrations in Analytic Finance and International Business. He also graduated Beta Gamma Sigma from St. John’s University, NY with an M.S. in Accounting and has completed requirements to be licensed as a CPA in NY State.
