David is a Vice President with nearly a decade of experience in corporate FP&A and financial consulting. Specifically, his experience ranges from corporate FP&A at some of the largest companies in the beverage industry, to supporting strategic FP&A initiatives and finance transformations across several private equity portfolio companies.
At Accordion, David partnered with the FP&A team at a newly independent cruise operator with ~$300M in annual revenue after their carve-out from a major cruise line to allow the company to meet the visibility needs of their private equity sponsor. He collaborated with departmental leads to define reporting needs and identify key business metrics to drive financial forecasting. With these drivers, he built a dynamic three-statement model to consolidate departmental forecasts and allow the company’s FP&A team to forecast short-term and long-term performance for key stakeholders. The Accordion team also developed a monthly reporting package and assisted with the company’s NetSuite implementation.
David also advised a PE-backed B2B SaaS business on a finance transformation as the company’s leadership sought to right-size its operating model following a period of heightened growth. He gathered relevant benchmarks, built financial models to dissect functional areas in detail, and identified opportunities to improve functional performance to best-in-class levels. At the end of the engagement, his team presented company leadership with a holistic roadmap and supporting models to achieve $10-18M in annual savings while making investments to unlock a scalable organization.
Prior to joining Accordion, David worked in corporate FP&A at Diageo and Pernod Ricard, two of the largest companies in the wine and spirits industry. At Diageo, he worked in commercial finance on the company’s spirits portfolio that includes the Don Julio, Johnnie Walker, and Crown Royal brands. His primary responsibilities included budgeting, forecast consolidation, identifying P&L risks/opportunities, and developing a monthly reporting package for senior leadership. He also assisted in executing numerous ERP enhancements for the company’s largest spirits division.
David graduated from Cornell University with an M.P.S. in Accounting and a B.S. in Hotel Administration.
