Ben is known as a three-tier executive with experience in private equity investment, financial advisory, and transactions. Leveraging an established network of relationships with capital providers, investment bankers, and business owners/founders, Ben has invested, managed and advised on more than $2B for mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures.
Prior to joining Accordion, Ben spearheaded Grant Thornton’s entry into the private equity space in 2013. During his tenure, Ben positioned the firm as a leader in the industry generating 20% of the firm’s total revenue.
In 2012, Mr. Brandes founded Hyde Investment Group to invest in and grow franchised businesses in beauty, health, and wellness. He aligned his proficiency in investment strategy and lean operations management to acquire franchisees in the hair salon, financial services, and non-emergency transportation industries.
Earlier in his career, Ben launched a $100M+ private equity firm that invested $500M in total capital for mid-tier deals. In a period of nine years, he formed eight platform companies and completed over 30 acquisitions. He sold the bulk of the portfolio to a NY-based hedge fund, where he then led their private equity investments in media and entertainment companies.
