Alvaro is a Vice President within Accordion’s Turnaround & Restructuring practice with more than five years of professional experience, combining investment expertise in private credit with a solid background in consulting.
Prior to joining Accordion, Alvaro completed an MBA at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, concentrating in Finance, Accounting, and Entrepreneurship. During his MBA studies, he interned at Acon Investments and MPowered Capital, gaining insights into growth equity, buyout, co-investments, and general partner investing strategies.
Before business school, Alvaro was an Investment Associate at Northgate Capital’s Private Credit Fund, where he analyzed investments in middle-market companies in Mexico. Additionally, he monitored the financial and operational performance of portfolio companies across various industries, including education, food and beverage, pharma, manufacturing, and B2B services. His transaction experience includes executing six new investments—representing approximately 30% of the fund’s committed capital—and playing an active role in two restructuring processes.
Alvaro began his professional journey as a Business Analyst at Everis (now NTT Data), where he worked on consulting projects with major financial institutions, such as leading banks, insurance companies, and pension funds. His projects involved strategic transformations, customer and employee experience improvements, and change management.
Alvaro holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Universidad Anahuac. As part of his undergraduate education, he also completed a semester abroad at Karlshochschule International University in Karlsruhe, Germany.
