Alex Bogopolsky

Alex is a Director with more than two decades of experience in operational and technical accounting and reporting advice to domestic and multinational companies.

Representative Accordion engagements span a variety of sectors, including Consumer, Software, Industrials, and Business Services. Alex worked on engagements for portfolio companies of The Carlyle Group, Cinven, Hellman & Friedman, General Atlantic, Centerbridge, Insight Venture Partners, Charlesbank, HGGC, and Snow Phipps (American Vision, Revint Solutions, Tangoe).

As a Certified Public Accountant, Alex has more than 20 years of direct client-facing Big Four experience in accounting advisory and auditing in a cross-section of industries, as well as significant controllership experience.

Alex is fully proficient in US GAAP and IFRS, having audited consolidated financial statements of various clients and advised business entities on complex technical aspects of revenue and lease reporting, business combination, consolidation, and financial instruments accounting.  Most recently, he has been helping many clients with the assessment of the impact and practical implementation of the new FASB guidance on revenue recognition, leases, and financial instruments.

His healthcare and related industry experience includes working with various clients such as Cardinal Health, NaviHealth, Patterson Companies, and Danaher on issues related to business combination and carve-out financial statements preparation, revenue recognition in the acute and post-acute patient care settings, and accounting for manufacturing and distribution of healthcare, diagnostic, and dental equipment and supplies.

In addition to his public accounting experience, Alex has managed a corporate financial reporting function of a software development company in New York.  He was responsible for financial accounting, managerial accounting, and finance activities of the company. The duties included overseeing financial reporting process, developing accounting policies, handling payroll (including stock-based compensation), and assisting with the preparation of the operating budgets.

Alex received his MBA in Finance and Accounting from New York University, Stern School of Business (with Honors). He also is an active CPA.
