Role Overview:

The Vice President of Global Infrastructure and Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing the technology infrastructure, security, and compliance functions across the organization's US domestic and international offices. Reporting to the Chief Information Officer (CIO) or Chief Technology Officer (CTO), the VP/CISO plays a critical role in shaping the technology strategy, infrastructure, and security posture to support the organization's operations globally.

This position must be based in one of our office locations and is a hybrid role. Candidates will need to be local to the areas, with opportunities for remote work 2-3 days per week.

What You’ll Do:

1. Infrastructure Strategy and Planning:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive infrastructure strategy that aligns with the organization's overall business objectives and growth plans.
  • Assess the technology infrastructure needs for domestic and international offices, taking into account factors such as local regulations, connectivity requirements, and scalability.

2. Network and Infrastructure Management:

  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of robust and scalable network infrastructure, data centers, servers, and storage systems across all locations.
  • Ensure high availability, performance, and security of the network infrastructure, taking into consideration local and global network connectivity requirements.

3. Global Connectivity and Collaboration:

  • Establish and manage connectivity solutions, including wide area networks (WANs), virtual private networks (VPNs), and cloud-based networking solutions, to enable seamless collaboration and communication across domestic and international offices.
  • Collaborate with local teams or external partners to ensure reliable and secure network connectivity, addressing factors like latency, bandwidth, and data sovereignty regulations.

4. Vendor and Service Provider Management:

  • Evaluate, select, and manage relationships with network infrastructure vendors, service providers, and technology partners.
  • Negotiate contracts, service level agreements (SLAs), and pricing terms to ensure high-quality and cost-effective services across all locations.

5. Security and Compliance:

  • Establish and maintain robust security measures to protect the organization's network infrastructure, systems, and data across domestic and international offices.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection regulations, industry standards, and best practices in each country of operation.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities, threats, and risks to the organization's information systems, networks, and data.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies, including controls, safeguards, and incident response plans, to protect against unauthorized access, data breaches, and cyber threats.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable data protection regulations, industry standards, and legal requirements across all domestic and international operations.
  • Stay abreast of evolving security and privacy regulations and advise senior leadership on necessary actions to maintain compliance.
  • Provide regular security status reports to executive management and board-level stakeholders, highlighting the organization's security posture, risks, and recommendations for improvement.
  • Ensure appropriate metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) are in place to measure and monitor the effectiveness of the information security program.
  • Develop and implement an enterprise-wide information security strategy that aligns with the organization's business objectives, risk appetite, and regulatory requirements.
  • Establish and oversee the information security governance framework, ensuring policies, procedures, and controls are in place to mitigate risks and protect information assets.

6. Team Leadership and Management:

  • Build and lead a high-performing infrastructure team, providing clear direction, guidance, and mentorship.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment, promoting knowledge sharing and professional development.

7. Budgeting and Resource Allocation:

  • Develop and manage the infrastructure budget, optimizing resource allocation to meet the technology needs of domestic and international offices.
  • Collaborate with finance and procurement teams to control costs, evaluate vendor contracts, and identify opportunities for cost savings.

8. Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive disaster recovery and business continuity plans for infrastructure components, ensuring uninterrupted operations across all locations.
  • Conduct regular testing and updates to the plans to address evolving risks and business requirements.

9. Security Monitoring and Threat Intelligence:

  • Lead the establishment and operation of a comprehensive security monitoring and threat intelligence program to detect and respond to security incidents in real-time.
  • Oversee the deployment and management of security monitoring tools, such as intrusion detection systems (IDS), security information and event management (SIEM) platforms, and threat intelligence platforms.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to stay updated on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and attack vectors, leveraging threat intelligence to enhance the organization's security posture.
  • Define incident response procedures and coordinate with relevant teams to investigate and mitigate security incidents promptly.

Ideally, You Have:

  • The ideal candidate for this role possesses strong leadership skills.
  • Extensive experience in infrastructure management.
  • Deep understanding of domestic and international technology landscapes.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing infrastructure projects and teams across multiple geographic locations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are crucial, as they will collaborate with stakeholders at various levels of the organization and work with diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • The VP of Infrastructure will play a pivotal role in enabling the organization's growth and ensuring a reliable, secure, and scalable technology infrastructure across US domestic and international offices.

Salary: $175,000 to $275,000 + benefits + bonus

Actual compensation packages are determined by evaluating a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, education, certifications, cost of labor and internal equity.
