All our finance function support services are rooted in data & analytics—which means a lot of opportunity for our talented D&A experts. With teams in both the US and India, our D&A practitioners deliver holistic solutions to clients while driving their careers forward in a collaborative, feedback-driven environment.
We asked Bonnie Chung to tell us more:
Q: What’s the most exciting thing about the work you do?
Our work has an impact. We don’t just deliver a technical solution; we think critically about how our solution impacts clients’ business outcomes, helps with KPIs, and aligns with business priorities—and we execute with those needs in mind. To see a meaningful, tangible outcome is exciting.
Q: How do you work cross-functionally as part of the Data & Analytics Team?
I’ve collaborated closely with our Strategic Finance, CFO Tech, and Transformation Teams. When we work on a project together, these teams help me understand our clients’ business goals, and I help them understand technically how we are going to get there from a data analytics perspective. The cross-functional support allows us to deliver truly holistic solutions to clients, and it’s really rewarding.
Q: Talk about what it’s like to work at a growth company.
We’re evolving quickly, and our D&A Team is especially fast-growing as the demand for data & analytics capabilities continues to expand. That means we’re in an era where a lot of processes are still being defined, which gives us the chance to be creative: to try new approaches, take a step back, and say, “Did that work? And if it didn’t, what can we do better?”.
Q: How is working at Accordion different from other firms?
The approach we take to our work, as a team, is very open and feedback-driven. There are no egos; if something isn’t working, we don’t try to brush it under the rug and say everything is perfect. We take accountability, we discuss it, and we figure out how to make it better. The comfort that we give to each other to have those transparent conversations drives us to be the best we can be.
Q: How would you describe the culture on the Data & Analytics Team?
Collaborative. Everyone brings different backgrounds and experiences to the table, which makes the outcome of every engagement we work on a little bit better. This goes for the US team, and also for the India team; we work hand-in-hand with members of the India team daily, and it’s valuable to have that additional expertise and manpower behind us. We respect one another’s perspectives so much—and it’s what makes us great.
Q: What would you say to someone thinking about joining Accordion’s D&A Team?
There’s a lot of opportunity for growth here: in your technical expertise, your leadership skills, and your career overall. You’re encouraged to raise your hand for the opportunities that you want, both when it comes to client engagements and internal initiatives. At a growth company like Accordion, you can drive your career in a very unique way.
