Simon joins Accordion as a Managing Director in the Operational & Technical Accounting Advisory Practice. He experiences range from Fortune 500 to Top 10 Private Equity to Top 10 Public Accounting firm. A certified public accountant, Simon brings two decades of finance transformation, audit readiness, risk advisory, treasury, IPO readiness, and operational accounting across a wide range of industries: M&D, technology, financial services, healthcare, private equity, cannabis, insurance, and cryptocurrency / digital assets.
Prior to joining Accordion, Simon help lead Crowe LLP’s Accounting Advisory Practice. With the advent of ASC 606, Simon along with his mentor, established an Accounting Advisory practice at Crowe. The focus was to help organizations implement the new standard but with the assistance of specially developed software. From here, Simon helped grow the group into a team focusing on helping organizations with a wide range of needs: IPO / SPAC readiness, audit readiness, OCFO strategy, operational accounting, and integration of accounting functions, including related technologies, ERPs & CPMs.
Before Crowe, Simon held risk and operation roles for ACS, Inc. and TPG Capital. ACS, Inc (now Conduent) was a Fortune 500 business process and IT outsourcing servicing Fortune 500 companies, state and federal municipalities. Here Simon performed risk advisory work learning how to design, operate, and run accounting and other business operations. From there, he joined TPG Capital to help with IPO readiness. During this time, Simon worked in the operational risk & controls group helping the organization prepare for public exit. He helped with the IPO of TPG’s first business development group and design accounting operations for their RMB funds in China. He transitioned to run treasury operations and investor relations, overseeing two thousand bank accounts and communications to hundreds of LPs. After TPG, Simon joined Crowe LLP in the risk practice.
Simon earned his BS in Accounting from Texas A&M University. He is the proud father of two beautiful daughters and avid traveler visiting over 40 countries and all seven continents. When his is not working, he enjoys spending time outside cycling, golfing, fishing, and skiing.
